Brahmastra Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has revealed he’s the reason Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor kept their relationship in the spotlight.

The couple began their relationship on the set of the upcoming film in 2017.

While speaking at the big poster launch for the film, Mukerji revealed, “To be honest when we started our movie I thought it was the best cast – Ranbir and Alia from Power Plants. just too good.

“Then Ranbir and Alia became very good friends, then very, very good friends in life, then more than friends,” he continued.

However, the filmmaker feared that his film would be affected by their meeting.

He admitted: “I didn’t want the whole world to see them during these 4 years. I didn’t want anyone to see them until my movie was out. So a lot of things didn’t happen in their life because every time they dated ”

The 38-year-old director also added: “I would be sitting in the back saying ‘you are all ruining my movie. Please don’t go anywhere.’ It feels good now that we can share them. “

Meanwhile, Karan Johar also opened up about Mukerji’s protection of the pair.

“If he (Mukerji) had released this movie a few years ago, keeping it a secret would have been a good idea. Unfortunately, you can’t hold back love for that long. Deep down, it’s a love story, ”KJo added.
