As the expenses for the season begin to increase, many people will turn to their local credit union for financial assistance. Preparations for many in the South Cavan and North Longford areas begin with a visit to the North Longford & Arva Credit Union, which makes holiday wishes come true for its members, with a special six percent Christmas loan .
In anticipation of a busy Christmas, the credit union offers flexible loans when members need them most from a caring lender. Owned by the members, the people who save and borrow with it, North Longford & Arva Credit Union provides access to fair and reasonable rates on loans.
CEO Stephen McDermott spoke about what the Credit Union does for members: “We are preparing for a busy December and Christmas season. We are a non-profit cooperative, we exist only to serve our members, not to take advantage of their needs.
The decisions of credit unions are made by the local people to improve the community in which we operate. We are local, loyal and lenders.
We currently offer loans of € 100 to € 40,000 for all of our members’ needs.
“When Bank of Ireland left Arva in October it was a setback for the city, but the range of services we provide fills many gaps and our community appreciates it. We’re here for the long haul. “
Stephen says the Credit Union will offer a number of additional services in the new year: “We will host an on-street ATM and also launch a facility for members to pay their direct debits. “
