Posted to his social media pages on January 15, we got our first look at Gotham’s newest hooded crimefighter.
“I use their expectations against them. This will be their weakness. Not mine. That they all underestimate me…
And when their guard is down and their pride rises, let me kick their ass.

Reminiscent of Cameron Stewart’s run from Batgirl, the suit conveys high energy with an eagerness to kick the criminal kiester through Gotham.
The casting of Leslie Grace has been globally received with enthusiasm, as in this tweet from comic book creator Gail Simone, whose character Alysia Yeoh is also on the show.
IT’S OK EVERYBODY I’M JUST GETTING A LITTLE RIGHT NOW I’M GOOD BUT THERE IS A BATGIRL MOVIE COMING OUT BY AN AMAZING WRITER AND ALYSIA YEOH IS IN IT JOYYYYYYYYYYY https://t.co/UreAaWGlFv

Not everyone was so excited about the new costume design, with some going so far as to pit creatives against creatives, which is never fun.
It’s just lazy and lifeless as hell. These are real Batgirl costumes. Cosplayers always do better… https://t.co/EMc7hP2Qgm pic.twitter.com/lbVy5Mpeu1

Casting call
The incredible costume reveal wasn’t our only Batgirl news this week. In addition to the already amazing cast, this week’s news dropped three new cast members!
First, we have Rebecca Front, a stalwart of British TV and film. She has appeared on shows like In the thickness of it, had an episode of Doctor Who, and was even in Transformers: The Last Knight.
Second on the list is Ethan Kai. A talented actor whose relatively short list of credits includes Kill Eve, Emmerdale Farm, and even Equus!
Finally, we have Corey Johnson, with a long history in action movies. Featuring heavy hitters like the ones from 1999 The Mummy, Hellboy, X-Men: First Class and is even in the future Morbius movie! This will mark a reunion of sorts for the actor, as Brendan Fraiser previously starred in the film as Garfield Lynns, aka Firefly.
With an expanding cast and filming already underway in Glasgow, it’s only a matter of time before we hear more information about the upcoming play. Keep this sleuth’s intuition sharp for news on one of the latest DC movies coming to HBO Max.
