BBC Graham Norton Show: Daniel Craig’s love life, from actor’s famous wife to ex-girlfriend of Love Actually

Daniel Craig is a British actor who made his name in the James Bond film series. But before his James Bond fame, he starred in Roger Michell’s Enduring Love and The Mother, as well as ITV’s Heartbeat. Although he’s not the brightest of celebrities, he chooses to keep his private life exactly like that – private. But his personal life is still quite glamorous, and his wife and ex-wife are celebrities in their own right.
Daniel met his first wife, Scottish actress Fiona Loudon, while at the National Youth Theater in London. The two had a whirlwind romance and ended up having a child together when Daniel was just 23 – their daughter Ella is now 29.
The couple married the same year they met in 1992, but separated after two years. According to the Mirror, Daniel admitted the couple were, in hindsight, ‘too young’ to marry – but they remain friendly. Daniel also described parenthood as “the most wonderful thing that can happen to you”. Ella is now an actress herself.

After that, Daniel dated a German actress, Heike Makatsch. But if you don’t recognize her name right away, you’ll definitely recognize her character from classic British romantic comedy Love Actually. Heike starred in the film as temptress Mia, who wants to have an affair with Harry (played by Alan Rickman), leading to *that* Emma Thompson scene where she’s crying in her bedroom. How could you, Mia.
The couple dated for seven years, but broke up – they cited work bothering them. Daniel said of his career disruption on his love life: “Movie shoots have caused a lot of breakups; marriages are falling apart. It’s a hell of a loneliness.”
Luckily, it all finally worked out for the James Bond star, who is now happily married to Rachel Weisz. The two first met in college and reunited on the set of Dream House. Seemingly learning from past mistakes, the stars have kept their relationship (and marriage) staunchly private.
Rachel told the Evening Standard: “I never thought I would get married. It wasn’t one of my ambitions… Then it happened, thankfully, at a more mature time.”
Daniel Craig will be on the Graham Norton Show at 10:30 p.m. tonight (February 4).
