Lincoln Park presents ‘Disney’s Descendants: The Musical’

MIDLAND – The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center presents “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” from Friday to Sunday, and again from November 19 to 21.
“It’s happy forever with a little flavor,” says the show’s tagline based on the original Disney Channel film series.
The musical features popular songs “Rotten to the Core”, “Chillin ‘Like a Villain” and “Ways to be Wicked”.
Show hours are 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays with mornings at 2. The shows take place at the MainStage Theater in downtown Midland.
“This show has such great appeal to audiences, especially young audiences,” said Justin Fortunato, artistic director of Lincoln Park. “I think this is the case for several reasons. One of them being the show brings together some of the greatest characters in Disney canon in situations audiences have never seen before, but more than that I think is because of the show’s message. It shows such a unique perspective on the characters we all think we already know, and the idea of finding your own path is something audiences of all ages identify with and sympathize with.
Directed by Rosh Raines, “Disney Descendants: The Musical” is the sixth installment in Lincoln Park’s annual Junior Musical Productions. Starring some of the youngest students at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and the region, “Descendants” is a musical comedy produced entirely in the style audiences have come to appreciate at Lincoln Park.
The 40-person cast includes Brett Barthelemy, Sidney Ciencin and Savannah Soriano-Clark (Aliquippa), Emily Fink (Ambridge), Tristan Heavner (Baden), Alicen Mosura (Beaver), Grace Plassmeyer, Kali Richardson and Breyden Stephenson (Beaver Falls) , Skiyah Hall (Center Township), Liv Poole (Midland) and Jacob Weber (Monaca).
Tickets cost $ 18 to $ 25 and are available online at lincolnparkarts.org/events, or by calling the Lincoln Park box office at 724-576-4644.
