“A quarter of a century is a milestone to be celebrated! It is also an opportunity to thank the some 200 companies that have walked our stages over the seasons, as well as all the choreographers and artists who have placed their trust in us during this fabulous adventure. They gave us 25 years of audacity, passion, emotion and applause! To encourage them, to bring their creative vision to life, we are ready to move mountains. Finally, a thousand thanks to our team, to the members of the board of directors, to the volunteers, to all our partners, to our donors and above all to our wonderful public who follow us, support us and push us to surpass ourselves from the very beginning. start.”

For the opening of the season, the Pina Bausch Foundation, L’École des Sables and Sadler’s Wells are joining forces for an exceptional collaboration: some thirty dancers from 14 African countries perform The Rite of Spring by Pina Bausch. As an act of opening, common ground[s] testifies to the meeting between Germaine Acogny, great lady of contemporary African dance and founder of the École des Sables, and Malou Airaudo, emblematic figure of the beginnings of the Tanztheater Wuppertal.
Choreographer Silvia Gribaudi will be next. With mischievous humour, this Italian prophet of the liberated body questions beauty, shakes up codes and stereotypes in a bewitching and self-deprecating quartet.
Their European tour continues with Hofesh Shechter and his 10 virtuoso dancers! Set to music by Hofesh Shechter himself, Double Murder delves into the heart of our deepest emotions. A double program of two contrasting pieces, both charged with the tribal and contagious energy specific to the choreographer.
At the Wilder Building, Shay Kuebler and his dancers address the growing phenomenon of loneliness in an invigorating and moving work that is highly topical – and reminds us how much we need each other.
To conclude 2022, Virginie Brunelle dares to tackle a very ambitious work for 12 performers and a live pianist. Against the backdrop of the chaos of an upset era, Fables projects us into fantastic spaces from which larger-than-life characters emerge.
Having the great Marie Chouinard on the program for this anniversary season was important for Danse Danse since she was part of the very first season. The major choreographer kicks off 2023! Backed by a soundtrack whose raw material is the breath of 12 dancers, “M” is the latest opus from a choreographer with limitless inspiration.

To conclude this month rich in movement, the Tanztheater Wuppertal takes over Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier with Palermo Palermo. The bells of Palermo ring out at the top of their voices in this mythical work by Pina Bausch, whose imprint remains unequalled.
In collaboration with the École supérieure de ballet du Québec and the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Stephanie Lake, a figurehead of Australian dance, explores the joy and excitement of the collective experience in an extraordinary event , with a scene of 60 bodies.

To end the season in style, RUBBERBAND is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a creation: Reckless Underdog.
