Michael B. Jordan really sat in a flaming car during this intense movie scene
Michael B. Jordan recently got into action movies with the release of Without remorse, a film based on a book by Tom Clancy of the same name. In doing so, Jordan, who typically stars in dramas such as Creed and Just mercy, chose to perform a bunch of insane stunts that literally put his life on the line.
One of the most impressive waterfalls in Without remorse occurs when Jordan traps a man in a burning car with him for questioning. And while many viewers might think the flames engulfing their car are fake, Jordan recently confirmed that he is, in fact, sitting in a real fire.

Jordan discussed the dangerous stunt in a recent interview with Jimmy fallon. During the conversation, he admitted that there is no way to prepare for a scene that demands so much.
âIt’s one of those things that – most of the stunts in the movie, you can practice,â Jordan said. âYou can’t really train yourself to be warm. Do you know what I’m saying? Fire is fire. âIt was probably the only stunt I didn’t think about so much, I just wanted to do it.
He was protected from the flames by a special gel
According to Jordan, the production team did a lot of work to keep him safe during the stunt, which included covering him with a special gel.
âThey got you covered with this fire retardant gel,â Jordan said. âYou might lose a few eyebrows and eyelashes in the process. But I left with most of my people.
When the time came to do the hit, Jordan did his best to avoid hesitation and prolong the scene.
âYou just get in the car, man, and you do the scene,â Jordan said. âAnd you know, you have to get out. It was hot. It was hot.”
He almost choked Jamie Bell in another scene
Jordan’s dangerous car burn stunt was far from the only risky stunt in Without remorse. Jordan also had to choke on his co-star, Jamie Bell, in a scene where they were arguing, but almost choked him for real.
âYeah, it was actually very intense,â Jordan said. Entertainment tonight. “And Jamie, I’m so sorry, but⦠in my defense, he wanted to, okay?” He told me to continue, and I was like, “Hey man, are you sure?” Jordan recalls. âAt this point my forearm is actually sore. For the next three or four days my whole forearm was sore from suffocating it, but it was a bit hungry for the punishment.
Even though Bell left with some serious bruises, Jordan is happy the two were able to pull off such a compelling scene.
âHe was sore,â Jordan said. “I mean drink tea, his voice was messed up, but that’s why I love this guy, he doesn’t stop.” He’s one of the best stage partners I’ve ever had and I was extremely lucky and lucky to work with him on this one.
