Next to Normal UK premiere announced in Donmar Warehouse season
The Donmar Warehouse in central London has unveiled its new season of shows until 2023.
Michael Longhurst will direct a new Tony-winning production next to normal, the flagship musical with music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. It takes place from August 12 to October 7, 2023. Cast and creative team are to be discovered.
Before that, Kate Duchêne, Caitlin FitzGerald and Patricia Hodge will star in Ellen McDougall’s revival of Lillian Hellman’s thriller Looking over the Rhinefrom December 9 to February 4, 2022.
Set in the summer of 1941 in Washington D.C. as a bride awaits the return of her German husband, the show was designed by Basia Bińkowska, lighting by Azusa Ono, and sound by Tingying Dong, with combat direction by Christian Cardenas. Other castings are to be revealed.
After that, Tinuke Craig will direct the world premiere of Diana Nneka Atuona Trouble in Butetown (February 10 to March 25, 2023).
As part of a fundraising performance next month, the three former artistic directors will reunite with Longhurst to host performances by notable alumni.
