Ninja Theory Tweet reveals concept art for Senua’s Hellblade 2 costume
A recent tweet Ninja Theory gave us a glimpse of an earlier version of protagonist Senua’s Hellblade 2 costume. While that looks good, the final version (which wasn’t in the tweet) has yet to be revealed, although it will hopefully be as we get closer and closer to the exit.
Hellblade 2 is a continuation of the original Hellblade game released in 2017 and has proven to be a hit for the studio. Hellblade 2 was revealed at the Game Awards in 2019 and hopefully we don’t have much to wait until its release.
Originally, Hellblade was about the protagonist Senua traveling through the realms of Norse mythology with her own madness in order to persuade Hela, the Viking goddess of death, to bring her lover back to life. Hellblade 2 has yet to get a plot summary, but seems to be much more focused on the Viking part.
Concept art for the new Hellblade 2 costume shows a look just as naked as the original Hellblade, but with a few differences, such as its general design (which looks more Nordic) and with a variety of other accessories such as various envelopes and capes next to the headband Senua also wears.
Of course, Senua’s outfit is only a small part of how the game looks. While Hellblade 2 seems like a similar dive into madness and myth, it’s unclear where all we’re going to go. We could travel across large swathes of Scandinavia, or just a few places.
The visuals of the trailer that we saw at the Game Awards looked amazing and supposedly ran on the power of the Xbox Series X, but of course it’s a trailer specifically meant to grab attention, so who knows? Either way, if you’re a cosplayer looking for the actual Hellblade 2 costume to be able to copy it, unfortunately you’ll have to wait until Ninja Theory actually shows it all.
Hellblade 2 will be released exclusively on Xbox Series X and PC, although no official release date has yet been given.
