Patty’s Choice: The Lost City – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather forecast

“Patty’s Pick” this week is a movie that’s getting a lot of attention, not just because of its script or its cast, but because people need to laugh!
It’s “The Lost City” with Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock and Daniel Radcliffe. Here’s more from Great Day TV’s Patty Spitler:
Let’s start with the actors and set the scene.
Sandra Bullock is a reclusive romance writer who features exotic inhabitants as well as beautiful cover designs to sell her books. She’s making a comeback with her model beau, Channing Tatum, in tow.
Then she and her muscle man are kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire played by Daniel Radcliffe, who thinks she can lead him to a lost city treasure, as his fantasy book describes. Lots of action accompanies this campy comedy.
I think we crave something fun and weird. The stunts and special effects are fabulous. The acting is spot on, and Channing Tatum is now proving he’s more than a Magic Mike character or canine sidekick. He gained credibility with this complex role, not only physically but also emotionally.
My problem was maybe I had seen too many movies, but the script was like a rehash of movies I had seen before. I remember ‘Romancing the Stone’, 1984.
The film hits theaters today. It is rated PG-13 and is 92 minutes long.
My rating is 3 leeches out of 5.
Leeches play a major role in this movie, and they don’t suck!
