After much delay, the Manoj Bajpayee-directed web series The Family Man Season 2 has finally started airing on Amazon Prime Video. The series, once again, revolves around Indian spy Srikant Tiwari (Bajpayee) juggling his personal and professional responsibilities. In addition to dealing with the divorce with his wife Suchitra (Priyamani), he also has to deal with the deadly plans of his nemesis Raji, played by Samantha Akkineni. While in the first season it was Delhi that was attacked, in the second season Srikant was stationed in Chennai to save him from an attack.
Dom: Amazon Prime Video
The Brazilian crime drama based on the true story of a father and son on opposing sides in the war on drugs in Rio de Janeiro has been dubbed for Indian audiences in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The eight hour-long episodes follow the story of Victor, a young diver who, by a twist of fate, becomes a military intelligence agent and sees the war on drugs as his life’s mission. Her life changes when her son, Pedro, becomes not only a drug addict, but also one of Rio de Janeiro’s most wanted criminals.
In his Mortal Kombat review, Indianexpress.com’s Kshitij Rawat wrote, âMortal Kombat more than delivers on its promise to be a faithful and entertaining film with plenty of callbacks and nods to die-hard fans. Taking inspiration from a fighting game, Mortal Kombat offers an abundance of richly crafted and performed action scenes, and in that sense, it’s a pretty good martial arts movie. It doesn’t hurt that many actors – including Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada – are action heroes and it shows. The real stunts are well complemented by visual effects and computer graphics.
Sweet Tooth: Netflix
The eight-part Netflix series is a live-action version of the comic book of the same name by Jeff Lemire. The show’s official synopsis reads: âBased on the beloved DC Comic and produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr., Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairy tale about a hybrid stag-boy and a lonely wanderer who embark on an extraordinary adventure.
Raya and the Last Dragon: Disney Plus Hotstar
Raya and the Last Dragon takes audiences on a journey into the fantastic world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons long ago lived in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the earth, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned, and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to hunt down the last legendary dragon to restore the fractured earth and its divided people. Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan and Izaac Wang are part of the voice cast of Raya and the Last Dragon.
Trippin ‘with the Kandasamys: Netflix
Directed by Jayan Moodley, Trippin ‘with the Kandasamys centers around a family vacation. The official synopsis for the film reads: âTo rekindle their marriage, best friends turned in-laws Shanthi and Jennifer plan a couple’s getaway. But it comes with all kinds of surprises.
